3D printing is a prototyping process that makes it possible to create an actual object from a 3D file. The object is formed by applying successive layers of solid material. The designs provided can be of almost any shape and this process has proven to be very useful, especially when working with inexperienced clients. This process has also allowed design decisions to be made faster and has in effect shortened the design process as models can be created in hours, as opposed to conventional model making which traditionally took days or weeks.
